Völd

Völd is an in progress independent comic title written and illustrated by myself. It's my own twist on an Anglo-Saxon type period with fantastical elements and follows the story of a young woman, Signy, in a fractious world as a protector of her farming village.

 

Multiple factions fight to rule the lands, with a supernatural force in the form of crystals gives whoever holds them an advantage over the others, whilst many horrors linger in the dark causing even more chaos.

The story opens with the main antagonists (High Council) dealing with a power vacuum after the death of their puppet ruler. This paired with their search of a newly discovered cache of Völd crystals and the re-emergence of an old enemy rips Signy's life apart.
