About
Hi,
My name is Ben Duchesne. I am an illustrator who predominantly specialises in traditional media such as pen and ink and paint. I largely focus on, but am not bound to, the narrative regions of illustration with my influences ranging from classical literature to contemporary graphic novels.
Figurative elements are common centerpieces to many of my works, and is an area of illustration that I take pride in presenting and using as focal points. I usually tackle more challenging themes and complex subject matters in my work, providing intricate detail and impact within these images.
I Grew up in Dorking, Surrey, and won an art scholarship into Cranleigh School in 2013 and then went on to study art at Godalming College in 2016 which was followed by joining the BA honours Illustration course at Falmouth University in 2019 where I graduated in 2022. I am currently working as a freelance illustrator.
